Residents of the Agglomération de Longueuil have access to a network of ecocentres. These drop-off sites are intended for residential waste only (commercial materials are not accepted). The service is free for residents, on presentation of a driver's license and vehicle registration. Each resident is entitled to 12 free visits per year to the ecocentres.
The rules are as follows:
Only residents (owners and/or tenants) of the Agglomération de Longueuil are admitted free of charge to the ecocentres.
The maximum volume of waste materials per visit is 2.5 m³.
The maximum vehicle length permitted is 7.5 m (including trailer).
Each residential address in the Agglomération is allowed 12 free visits per year (all ecocentres combined), starting on January 1 of each year. Once the maximum number of 12 visits has been reached, residents can use private recycling services, at their expense, or wait until the start of the new calendar year.
In the case of multi-unit buildings, the rule of 12 visits per year applies to each residential unit.
The Agglomération reserves the right to refuse a vehicle with the same license plate that has already been admitted to the Agglomération's ecocentres 12 times in the same year, except in the case of rental vehicles.
Residents must respect the access conditions at the ecocentres by showing proof of residency:
- driver's license (if the driver is an Agglomération resident);
- if the driver is not an Agglomération resident, the passenger must show one of the following documents: driver's license, tax statement, or copy of a lease.
A registration certificate must be shown for all vehicles entering the ecocentres.
Residents must follow the ecocentre rules in terms of the list of materials accepted and refused.
These rules will apply to any future ecocentre in the Agglomération de Longueuil.
