The installation of a temporary car shelter is authorized between October 15 of a year for the boroughs of Saint-Hubert and Vieux-Longueuil and on November 1 of a year for the borough of Greenfield Park and it must be withdrawn entirely by April 15 of the following year.
It must be on the grounds of the property, specifically in the parking area or access driveway.
A temporary carport may encroach on the right-of-way of a street, but must maintain a minimum distance of 1.50 m from a curb, sidewalk or bicycle path.
The only materials permitted are metal for the framework and woven or laminated polyethylene fabrics as an outer cladding material.
In Greenfield Park, only approved and certified temporary car shelters are permitted.
