When every minute counts
In the event of a real or imminent danger, Ville de Longueuil wants to be able to reach you quickly.
Our automated call system is a critical tool that allows public security employees to notify and prepare you for emergency situations that could happen in your neighbourhood or across the entire city.
Automated call system
Ville de Longueuil now has an automated call system capable of reaching hundreds of thousands of people in just a few minutes in order to share the following types of alerts as quickly as possible:
- boil-water advisory or drinking water ban
- shelter-in-place notice
- evacuation notice
- other situations
The system does this by sending the information to your:
- home phone
- cell phone (voice and/or text message)
- email address
Register now to receive notifications
To make sure you receive emergency notifications from the city, you need to add your name to our contact list by filling out the online registration form.
Since the information you provide will be instantly saved in the system, this is the fastest way for you to register. You have the option to add multiple phone numbers or email addresses; your contact information will remain confidential.
The system works with voice recognition. It can not be operated by a business telephone line with automated receptionist. If you want to add your work phone number, be sure to enter a direct line number.
No Internet connection at home ?
No problem! You can still sign up by:
- calling 311
- visiting one of the city's libraries
- asking a friend or family member to help you register online
Your personal information will remain confidential and will be used only to send you system notifications.
How will I know when the system is calling?
Emergency notifications will come from the phone number 450 463-7250. We recommend saving this number in your contacts under the name Longueuil Alert so you'll know the call is important.
Note to businesses and organizations
Because the system is triggered by the sound of a voice, it only works with direct lines. For this reason, businesses and organizations need to provide a phone number without an extension and establish a procedure for passing on the information to all employees.
